HD Sentinel
Am I missing something or is HD Sentinel not on the video disk as stated in Nick's Healthy PC article?

HD Sentinel is missing
You are indeed correct, HD Sentinel is not on the disc, this one slipped under the radar. We should also mention that HD Sentinel is a commercial application, there's a free trial however.
If you want to give HD Sentinel a try, visit www.hdsentinel.com
Alternatively there's always:
HDDLife (free) - www.hddlife.com
SiSoft Sandra (lite) - www.sisoftware.net

HD Sentinel
Thanks Scott, just the timing is perfect as I think my HD is about to go belly up so the article was perfect for helping me diagnose and rectify/mitigate. Thanks for the alternative suggestions, I'll check them out. And I may be back to the Help Desk if it gets SNAFUd

No problem Eddie, HDDLife
No problem Eddie, HDDLife gives you a handy health meter based on your drives SMART data, it's a good indication of how close a drive is to the brink.
If you're still worried though you could always get another drive and mirror RAID it rather than start from scratch.

Availability
My local Tesco supermarkets do not seem to stock the publication any more. I also visited my local Borders twice in the last fortnight and was unable to see Issue 203 on the stands in either outlet, nor WH Smith.
Is circulation limited in the number of issues you distribute? [ I already subscribe to other publications, so adding another would just clutter more.]
Also, there seems to be nowhere on the site to order back issues on-line?

Back issues & availability
Hi Noel - PCAnswers is no longer available in Tesco stores but is in other major supermarkets and WH Smith. Borders also carry, but it may be store dependant. You can indeed get back issues by visiting www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk and going to the PCAnswers page under Computing.
